We purchased our first hedgehog in 2009, after doing extensive research. We absolutely fell in love with the little creatures, and opened our home in 2010 as a rescue station.
Since then, we have shared our lives with many amazing, wonderful little hedgehogs. Each one unique. Each one loved.
Here at Arkansas Hedgehog Rescue, we take pride in treating our hedgehogs like family. We have a wonderful local vet, and maintain health insurance for our permanent residents. Every hedgehog has a spacious cage; warm, soft fleece; a safe wheel; nutritious food; and nightly cuddles.
We have spent many hours syringe feeding and medicating a sick baby, enjoying precious cuddles, rehabilitating a shy, scared ball of quills, and holding a beloved friend as they take their last breath.
While we wish that everyone who owns a hedgehog would be able to take care of them properly, for their entire life, we know that this is at times impossible. We are here for those times.
